Brooke Street

Holborn (EC1) Named after Lord Brooke, the friend of Sir Philip Sidney, whose residence was here. At No. 39 in this street the poet Chatterton died. He was buried in the graveyard of Shoe Lane Workhouse. (Reference: Timbs's Curiosities of London, p. 430)
