Billingsgate

City (EC3) Said to take its name from having been the gate of Belin, a King of the Britons, about 400 B.C. But this rests upon no better authority than Geoffrey of Monmouth, and is doubted by Stow, who suggests that the gate was called from some owner named Beling, or Billing.
