I started riding there a few years ago, i had had some bad experiances at other stables, but when i came to stag lodge it gave me confidence. All the horses are well cared for and none of them are overworked. Although they don't have a feild, there is always fresh hay in the stables and sometime they get to have a short graze in the park. Although the prices are high, they use the money to check the horses are always comfortable and at their best! The horses must be able to cope with the work, and any new horses are eased in gently, although if after a few weeks they can't keep up they are sold. The hacks are lovely in the rich countryside, if you ride on a weekday you can enquire about the 1and a half or 2 hour rides. The lessons are taught by BHS aproved instructors, and you will never get pushed to do something that you don't want to do. There are 2 areanas on site and 1 on wimbledon common. I think that the hacks are more peceful if you just want to relax, but the lessons are better for improvement. There are also pony weeks for the younger children, which are great fun. The stable is easily accesible by the number 85 bus, which goes past both Overground and Underground stations. This is by far the best stable in London!
