A review of The Glory Bible Church by Akin Smith written on Friday 5th of September 2008
If your quotation of Pastor Albert Odulele is accurate, then what he said is an appropriate paraphrase of part of the message of 3 John 2: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers".
The emotions are functions of the soul, so it is right to say that if the emotions are prospering by being aligned with God's emotions; then one would prosper in everything else. If one's emotions responded as God's would to one's social environment, for instance; it is a sign of one's soul having been converted. So if I hate the sin around me, but intensely and affectionately love the sinner; if my soul is flooded with feelings of compassion everytime I see drug addicts; the destitute and homeless; prostitutes etc; if I passionately love the truth, and truly rejoice whenever righteousness is in display; then my soul is manifesting aspects of godliness, and that is prosperity of the soul.
