A review of Bhozon Indian Restaurant by Joe Smith written on Friday 1st of December 2006
Bhozon is one of the best Indians in London. It's friendly, good value and the food is amazing. There's no pretention in Bhozon - they just want you to be happy and you will be. The menu is excellent with original specials, beers are proper curry house beers(Cobra and Kingfisher as opposed to "Eurolagers"). That said, you don't need a menu. Bhozon will make for you whatever meal you ask for cooked in whatever way you want. They really do aim to please. And they succeed.
In the grand scheme of things they're miles above anything in Brick Lane. I think it's safe to say I've tried all Indian Restaurants locally. Some have been OK, some expensive, some in nice locations, one even left me confined to my bed for four days. None have proved to be as consistently excellent as Bhozon.
So, where do they fall down? Nowhere really - the street it's in isn't the nicest in London but they can't change that. Their decor is "traditional Indian restaurant". Personally I like that - it's proper. But it may not appeal to those who like the glamour of the trendy "GastroCuzz" venues in Shad Thames! I give them 10/10 every time.
