"Hidden Jewel of London"

From 2002-2004 I lived in London just around the corner from James Street. James Street is a surprising getaway from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. Lined with amazing restaurants and cafes, James Street is home to my absolute favorite Italian restaurant (even over the many I have eaten at in Italy), Trattoria Giovanni!

In late 2002 I met a beautiful blonde Londoner whom I spent countless evenings with in this small restaurant sharing a bottle of wine and battling over which of the specials we would have. With ever-changing specials and delicious menu items, a trip to Giovanni became a weekly event for us. Hardly a week went by that we did not finish our days over a bottle (or two) of amazing house wine and sharing a dessert.

It was in Giovanni that I fell in love with my London girl and was the last restaurant we ate at before moving to the US just after we were married in the spring of 2004.

I travel to England at least once a year and my visit is never complete without a stop at Trattoria Giovanni. Big Ben is nice to see, but James Street and Giovanni are London essentials!
