A review of The Old Bank by Hungry Wolf written on Sunday 19th of November 2006
Booked for Saturday night birthday celebration with my sisters. Arrived to find restaurant very busy and staff obviously finding it hard to cope. They were very offhand. After 15 mins, had to ask for menus and drinks. Then after another 15 minutes, asked to order. Was told rather rudely: Sorry, the kitchen is too busy, you'll have to wait! When we finally ordered, we then waited 75 minutes for food. No bread, olives offered. In fact, no one asked if we wanted to order more drinks. The restaurant has an open kitchen and the place gradually got smokier and smellier. Initially, this just made us feel even hungrier. By the time our food arrived, we were starting to feel queasy. The food was actually very good, but we were just about past caring at that stage. We won't be returning..
