I AM WRITING A NOVEL SET IN 1950s LONDON AND I WANT THE CHIC HEROINE TO CHOOSE AND WEAR BALLY SHOES, AS SO MANY SMART WOMEN DID IN THE 1950s. BUT I'M NOT SURE AT WHAT DATE BALLY OPENED ITS SHOP IN THE KINGS ROAD, AND I WANT THE STORY TO BE AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.

CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE? I KNOW THAT MARY QUANT OPENED BER FIRST BOUTIQUE IN THE AREA AT ABOUT THAT TIME - IN 1954, I THINK - BUT I'M NOT SURE WHEN BALLY OPENED ITS DOORS THERE.
