A review of Gibilaro Dr Anna by Lucky escape written on Tuesday 22nd of January 2008
My local private dentist proposed that my daughter slept in a head brace when she was 5, to correct an overbite. He also said that lots of his young patients were doing so, and that he had been on a course to train in this area.
Through a dentist friend of the family I found Anna and sought a 2nd opinion. She advised that juvenile teeth often look poorly positioned but sort themselves out without such treatment and that I should wait until she is at least 8 before trying to move her teeth. (In addition if moved the roots of the baby teeth may get in the way causing the new ones to grow in the wrong place.)
My daughter is now 8 and her big teeth position is normal. I avoided thousands of pounds of unnecessary work and anguish.
I recommend that you seek a second opinion from a fully qualified orthodontist instead of relying on partially trained dentists who only know half the story.
