A review of Avalon Hotel by Vincent (Newcastle) written on Wednesday 16th of January 2008
At £40 per night you can't complain, really, especially when you can practically see the new Eurostar St Pancras terminal from our room. Friendly staff, clean but basic and an air of faded grandeur that might (or might not) be a plus point. No breakfast but lots of lovely places to eat on the doorstep. Bonus points for the excellent location enabling us to walk to the British Museum, well-placed for Camden and easy to get back to after the tube stops running. Don't expect a Travelodge but some may appreciate being in a less anodyne environment. .
