A review of Lahore Express by Al written on Monday 3rd of December 2007
Last Saturday, we went to this restaurant for the first time, on a recommendation. From the outside, it looks like a pretty basic takeaway - the restaurant at the back is a bit like a Wimpy bar or canteen (formica-topped tables, laminated menus). Before the food came, we were a little puzzled why this place had been recommended so highly but when the food arrived, it was obvious.
It was fantastic. My mixed grill ("small", apparently) was great with wonderful flavourings while the rice was light and perfectly cooked. The naan breads were rolled out by hand and cooked to order while the pappadoms arrived fresh and hot. My friends were very impressed by their curries. The total bill (including 3 soft drinks) came to around £26 and we couldn't have eaten any more.
I can't wait to go back there again.
