A review of Amita Restaurant by Anonymous written on Tuesday 23rd of October 2007
If you want to just eat good meal and don't care about anything else, then you can certainly plan to eat in Amita restaurant. But if you do care about service and things which do matter regarding eating out, then make sure that you do not set foot in Amita restaurant.
We ordered 2 thalis between the 2 of us, and I must say that the food was delicious. But at the end, we knew we could not finish the entire thali - so we had left our pulao rice untouched. We asked the waiter to pack it for us. IT WAS NOT A REFILL THALI. IT WAS A LIMITED ONCE EAT ONLY THALI. But inspite of that the waiter refused that he could not pack the rice, as he said that they do not pack leftover food from the thali. All we wanted is just rice, which was untouched and would only require 1 container. We even said that we will pay extra for the takeaway rice. But their policy was the same.
Another day, we went in for a takeaway meal at the restaurant. We ordered from the menu, some chaat items, some starters, etc. Then I asked him if I could use their toilet. "NO" replied the same waiter, as he said that only restaurant customers could use the toilet. But we had ordered takeaway worth £7-10, and still he would not let me use the toilet which was in the quiet hour, around 12.30 pm in the afternoon when no one else was there. I felt really uncomfortable with my situation, and simply had to leave in a totally uncontrollable situation....
I will not go there again if they follow such policies as not allowing their takeaway customers to us their toilet, etc .
