A review of Garfunkel's Restaurant by Camstudent written on Thursday 12th of July 2007
We came along at around 10pm for a late meal, and were told we had to be out in 1/2 an hour, which suited us fine. So the waitress was very rushed, requesting out main meals after 3 minutes, but that wasn't a surprise.
However, we then had to wait over half an hour for our food despite there being few customers about. During this time the waiting staff were not very friendly or willing to explain what had taken so long. This was minor, but when the food turned out to be quite poor as well, it became a sore point.
My steak was chewy, not medium-well done as I requested, and the sauce was in a thimble shaped paper cup, despite costing an extra £2! The whole meal was far too expensive, about £17 for a poor steak, few chips, carrot (!?) and a poor red wine/mushroom sauce. I won't be visiting again. .
