A review of The Old Etonian Restaurant by Nush written on Saturday 2nd of June 2007
Incanto nearby was fully booked so we tried the Old Etonian - in hindsight should have gone back home and ordered pizza instead! The worst service I'd ever encountered, despite dining in central London regularly which is an achievement (?!) for the Old Etonian. Sat in the terrace left there with the menu - wasnt asked about apertifs wasnt told about the day's specials, wasnt offered bread - had to ask for all of these ourselves. The food was a joke. My scallops were chewey and the only flavour being vinegar. Husband's crab meat arrived in what looked like a pie - yes a patty shaped pie with no taste - he had to ask what it was! My main - penne pasta tasted and looked like a medicinal concoction and hubby's dover sole looked like it needed an another few years to go before it can be classed as a fish. McDonalds is better bet if you're stuck any day - but dont go here. .
