A review of The Marksman by Adam R written on Friday 4th of May 2007
The Marksman is a lovely pub with a traditional East End atmosphere. The pub is quite small but is a good place to wind down after a hard day in the City. It is also a good place to watch the football, they have your team's matches on.
The bar staff are very friendly and they get you your drinks as quick as a flash and they have a jukebox so you can put your favourite songs on there.
They also have a pool table in the public house, 50p a go! Quite a bargain.
I, myself always go into the Marksman to socialise and wind down when ever I go to London. The pub is quite popular and you get the regulars, as well as the new customers.
The managers, Gary and Dawn are absolutely brilliant and they love to talk to the customers, and I suppose that is what makes the Marksman great.
Come on Londoners, if you are in the Hackney/Tower Hamlets area, just coming home from work or just on a trip to London, I suggest you go in there, it is lovely.
The snacks and the drinks are lovely too, you can have a laugh and a chat and it is just brill.
In my opinion, The Marksman Public House is the London Pub of the Year. Go on, go in there!!!.
