I was a boarder at Honour Oak 1938 until evacuation in 1939

There were young boys 5 - 7 years and older girls many from professional Italian families

Italian was spoken by most nuns as order had sent over when convent opened

I have photo taken in gym of pupils all dressed in white with traditional bunch of artificial violets pinned and large background portrait of Mother Carbrini

I still have the red badge which was pinned to our summer Panama hats and winter velours

I am 95 years old and have so many memories of life at Honour Oak.
