This school marked me for life . I under achieved mainly because I did not fit the required standard of everything it stood for. By rhe time I left, the teachers were just as unhappy as me.

They just wanted exam passes or good sporting ability/ The ideals seemed high but it was mostly illustion. I do remeber loads of labour politicians forever swanning round Jim Callaghan was one of them.

Miss Green the headmistress had a way of talking that I always thought was strange rather like an impression of an affected dandy from the 1800s years later I found out she was a lass from up north and the affected accent was false just like the school,

The uniform made life miserable it was forever inspected. Yet another illusion of granduer..
