I worked in a number of laundries during the 1960s and by the end of my first week in my first laundry I just mentioned how my hands were getting dry and one of the older workers, an old lady, slapped a tube of glymiel jelly on the machine I was leaning on.

" This is all you'll need" and boy was she right, never had a problem after that. Any laundry you found yourself in then, all you would see is tubes of glymiel jelly, on shelves, poking out of pockets, on tea room tables, everywhere. There were employees with many years of continuous 'wet' work with perfect hands. A very impressive product, unlike all the creams of today.
