A review of Shiloh Pentecostal Church by Anonymous written on Sunday 7th of August 2016
Shiloh used to be an old school holiness church where you could really feel the power of the Lord. This was due to it's founding pastor Betty White as she was then. This was no mean feat for a single West Indian woman in the 1960s. She was an ultra orthodox Pentecostal. She married Reverend Ryan in her later years and the church continued in holiness. I really don't know what the Ryans would make of Shiloh now. It seems to be a place where all sorts of common worldliness has sadly crept in. I was there for the anniversary of the church a couple of years ago and there were inappropriately dressed young girls doing a vulgar dance on the platform. There is a remnant of members who can remember what Shiloh used to be like and I know that they are sad and dismayed at what is happening within its walls. Women are free to enter the sanctuary in trousers and with heads uncovered. I cannot believe how much the church has changed. They even had an unsaved pop star called Emilie Sande sing there one Christmas. It is heart breaking to see what has happened to this once great church. It may be 2016 but holiness is still right..
