"Stale cake...both times!"

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and when cut the sponge was very dry, almost stale. I cut up half of the cake for guests however most didn't eat it. After calling Koolcakes to complain they asked to bring in the cake. The staff saw it and agreed that it was dry and offered to give a credit note for half the cake!. At the same time the staff were talking in hindi about our complaint. Not realising we understood, they were encouraging each other not to give a refund or another cake. Was told to speak to the manager next day who then disagreed that the sponge wasn't dry despite the staff agreeing the day before. In the end he agreed to make another cake for the following week. Picked it up and cut into it and still dry! We got a cake from CAKE BOX as an emergency cake for my daughter's birthday which was outstanding! AVOID AVOID AVOID Koolcakes! Cakes are not baked fresh as they said they could make another one for us in 15 mins. How is that possible if baking a fresh cake? Try cake box instead.think we will be going there from now on!.
