A review of Eurosport TV Channel by Helen Fisher written on Wednesday 1st of January 2014
The beauty and excitement of the men's downhill, super GS and GS can be marred by the incessant, high speed, high volume commentary provided by Messrs Clarke and Golding. Whilst there's little doubt that John Clarke, in particular, knows what he's talking about, the non-stop verbiage gets to the point where the viewer becomes nearly as exhausted as the athletes by being forced to listen to it. Of course the option of the mute button is always available but the slower, more deliberative style adopted by the women's commentator proves encyclopaedic knowledge is no substitute for broadcasting professionalism.
