A review of Billo Shoes by Good Intentions.... written on Monday 18th of November 2013

I took my Son and Mum to Kingsland Road branch of Billo Shoe shop on Sat afternoon. I used to be on friendly terms with the cornrow man there, for over 30yrs.

My Son and I work Timberlands and Dr Martains with solid slip weather resistant soles. I wanted to get Mum ready for the snow. From knowing Im shopping for Mum, the cornrow man to get £100 plus boots and put into my Mothers hands, talking of quality. No questions asked.

I told him, we are shopping with a particular intention or purpose. He harped on about brands and costs to me, I told him i don't care about name brands, or to hear about what other Mothers buy. I want my Mum to be safe and comfortable, its about quality and durability. He asked me, am i saying, 'Am i saying Dalston shouldn't sell shoes so expensive, coz its Hackney'. I didn't entertain him. I told him we would like breathing space to think alone, express ourselves freely, could he.bac .off.
