How can lay people understand the terrible pressures our young soldiers face when in the theatre of war. I do not think that the royal marine found guilty of murder should be punished with a life sentence. He had seen some of his comrades killed by the enemy and probably felt terrific anger.His mental state should be taken into consideration when sentencing as although what he did was obviously wrong there are strong mitigating circumstances. .
