I left tom hood in 1960 at 17yrs it was a tech. commercial school with very little facilities, we had no showers or proper changing rooms after PE even though it was mixed school,I ran in the school cross country team the captain was bobby moore the footballer,it was hard but it got us out of that place.I know pupils made it, but by christ they had to work on there own efforts.The school was run by miss Cole who was only there because they had closed the workhouses, other than that it was a rubbish place and deserved to be pulled down..
