A review of Treaty Lodge by DumpedHereByCouncil written on Sunday 27th of October 2013
This place is used as a dumping ground for homeless. I was one of them. It's not really a B&B the council is supposed to give you for emergency housing It's more of a flop house Room is not up to standard cleanliness, hallways noisy. There is no private bathroom, no privacy, you have to "share" with people, so if you're an older woman with kidney problems and afraid of being raped, it's better to pee in a cup and pour it down the sink. I was given no towels, or soap for that matter. What I was given were 2 tea towels when I asked. For a bowel movement I went over to the Treaty Centre which was inconvenient I did not take a shower while there. The "council" is going to get a good piece of my mind. I do not consider it a place for single women, particularly older single women, It feels quite unsafe. People constantly leave the bottom door open so anyone from the street can wander up. When I arrived I was "treated" to the sight of 2 policemen engaging with one of the residents across the hallway. And last night I was treated to a loud shouting match among various tenants shortly before midnight. There is a fridge in the room and facilities to cook your own food, but personally I would not risk using one of the public rooms for fear of running into one of the "shouters" This place is frightening to me..
