A review of Osteria Pulcinella by N Akumbawa written on Saturday 7th of April 2007
To Erum,
I've just come across your review regarding Pulcinella in Twickenham and found it humorous and disturbing at the same time.
Being of an African origin, I have been visiting this wonderful Italian eatery for the past 10 years and everytime I have received a warm welcoming service. Considering all the staff are of different nationalities, I don't think the colour of my skin has ever been an issue.
The service can be slow at times but I think that's because the staff know when you are having an intimate evening or an entertaining one which makes this place a cut above the rest.
I go there with my husband and we are left alone to enjoy a quiet, unhurried dinner and when I go along with my teenage children the staff are very entertaining.
It's a real shame that you have such an issue with the colour of your skin.
A word of advice for future... If you think you are receiving a bad service at a restaurant, don't automatically assume it's because of the colour of your skin. Everybody gets it at one time or another whether you're Black, White, Yellow or Asian.
Best Regards for the Future
