A review of AOL (UK) Ltd by T D Blakemore written on Saturday 29th of December 2012
AOL and TalkTalk are one and the same company but they confuse their customers by having a common telephone number for their helpline. If you are an AOL customer and are unfortunate enough to get put through to a TalkTalk person they will ask you to call in again and ask for an AOL person.... Not to divert you but to redial the same helpline number. They actually sent me an AOL router which simply refused to work and when the engineer turned up he used a TalkTalk router to connect me to the Internet. I then had to argue about the £50 call out charge and finally got a credit to negate the cost of engineers visit. What I forgot to get compensated was the one weeks loss of Internet use. I have been with AOL for +7years and this was the first time I have had any real interaction with them and whereas some of them clearly knew what they where doing others seemed as confused about what the company was about as I was. What should have been a simple process seemed to be both messy and protracted..
