A review of Angus Steak House by Mrs M Difford written on Saturday 31st of March 2007
Had the misfortune to go to this one !!
I took two visiting friends from USA who wanted to try out an Angus Steak House.
On entering we were greeted and shown to a table - so it started well!! We orderd 1 glass of wine and two glasses of bottled still water, while we were deciding what to have. The waiter came to take our order we asked for two main meals and I as I don't eat large meals and not hungrey asked to have just a starter as my main meal. To my horror I was told that I could not have my glass of wine unless I actually ordered a meal on the main course menu and then proceeded to tell me that a waiter had been sacked the week before for doing so. What rubbish, who decides what portion of food is a main meal and as far as I am aware (I'm in the trade) so long am ordering cooked food to eat on the premises, alcohol can be served. I was embarressed to have to challenge such a ridiculous remark and made to order a meal I neither wanted or enjoyed. The manager came to collect our plates when we had finished and dropped them back onto the tabel and onto my friends who managed to catch them.
In short, I will not be returning or recomending as I have no wish to repeat this experience. There are plenty of excellent eating places in the that area and better value for money..
