"10 years on and still going strong"

Ruislip windows fitted double-glazed windows and door on our maisonette almost ten years ago now. Newly wed and with various workers coming and going (new kitchen/ bathroom, carpeting etc) I never thought to review them.

I recall being surprised that they took all the windows out in one go, I think I was worried they wouldn't get the new windows in place before nightfall (it was wintertime). However, putting the new windows in was a breeze as they'd measured up so well.

The reason for this belated review is that we called them on Monday afternoon as one of our windows wouldn't close properly. They came out on Wednesday morning, as promised, and checked the window. Probable cause, dust. They suggested a quick clean followed by WD40 to oil it up and said if that didn't work to let them know and they would fit a replacement hinge. They made no charge, not even for call-out, and were just as friendly and efficient as they were 10 years ago. I'm writing this review because it says in the Bible 'do not withold from doing good when it is in your power to do so'; It is only right, given the quality service we have received 10 years ago and this week, that we recommend them to others (after all, I'd be quick to write a critical review if the product and service had been poor).

Incidentally, while they were here, I also queried a neighbours recently double-glazed property, done by another company, as I was curious that there seemed to be so much more glazing on theirs. Straigtaway, they spotted why that was - their property is no doubt well insulated, but innacurate measuring means there is a lot less glass and about 6" extra plastic either side of all their bay windows - perhaps this is the reason why this other company took a week doing our neighbours double-glazing, whereas Ruislip Windows had ours done in a day, and a short one at that being wintertime. I have no hesitation in recommending Ruislip Windows, and I'm sure anyone who does use them will be satisfied with the job done and with the staff..
