A review of Hype Coiffure by Searching. written on Sunday 19th of February 2012
Hype has dramatically dropped in standards and become complacent!
Battersea Salon the best out of all the branches- the others not worth bothering about!
The staff at Balham are really rude, immature and full of themselves. At least when the Salon started this used to be combined with excellent expertise and a degree of professionalism now that's all gone! I remember when the Salon used to be packed out everyday and you had to book weeks in advance to get an appointment! Now that's no longer the case at any of the branches! Fair enough the recession may have something to do with it - but not entirely! I have only been to the new Brixton Branch a couple of times on a Sunday. Avoid all Hype Salons on a Sunday - you only receive a half hearted - reluctant service as there are only skeleton staff who would much rather be out doing other things and often go as far as to try multitask and leave you waiting (of course there are a few exceptions). Battersea has the most professionalism and customer care, but that appears to be slipping with the increasing youth of the team, however they are usually a highly skilled bunch and my hair usually comes out looking good. Apart from my last visit - on a Sunday where my hair was practically ripped from its scalp! Avoid if you have natural hair! Expect to always be pressurised for a trim at all the branches!.
