I have just heard that the captaincy has been taken from John Terry...I understand this may now cause the England manager a problem in finding a replacement ....I want it to be known ..that as great an honour as the position holds I will be declining the position ..and in fact no longer wish to be considered for international duty...as I last played 25 years ago ..and have'nt got any boots any more.

I understand you may be dissapointed at my decision but but hopefully will respect my reasons.
