A review of Polish Air Force Association Charitable Trust by Donald Dykes written on Tuesday 8th of November 2011
In my research into War Graves in Brittany, of which there are 792 I have found the names of 17 Polish airmen who are buried in various Village locations. I have so far been able to identify all but one as to how they died and what their squadron was.
This airman is 794728 Sergeant Antoni OSTROWSKI killed on the 23 September 1942 Aged 32 who is buried in Quiberon Communal Cemetery,Morbihan, along with 4 other aircrew of 22 Squadron RAF.
I intend to try and identify all the 792 graves which include soldiers ,sailors and airmen from many overseas countries as to how they died.
There are many stories in this listing, and I will be putting together a Roll of Honour of all the men (and women)so that they will not be forgotten.
Can anyone help?
By the way, I am 81 years old and as a yound boy when War broke out we had to learn the French ,American and Polis national Anthems in English, and I have never forgotten them.
Don Dykes.
