A review of The Nursery At Dock Street by Parent written on Saturday 6th of August 2011
This nursery is able to cater for surprisingly large numbers of children- for example up to about 35 in one area. Staff do their best to rise to the challenge to give individual attention to each child. Some of the staff have worked at the nursery for some years. Others have recently joined and are training on the job and do their best to build their knowledge. The children are calm although of course the large numbers will impact on the levels of spontaneity and initiative that can be employed in providing a stimulating environment. An impressive 3-week rotating menu is prominently displayed, but staff display ingenuity in substituting where food occasionally runs out, and are able to offer childhood favourites such as baked beans at lunchtime. Sandwiches offered include jam fillings. Unfortunately the 'garden' area consists of only a narrow passageway but the children are still able to use it whenever weather permits..
