A review of Curry Cabin by Coral written on Sunday 10th of July 2011
I have never been compelled to write a meal review before. The menu I was given had curry on it, the coke was warm (almost hot in fact) no eye contact from the staff and I just knew it was going to be a bad one. Given that there are some very good curry places nearby I would have thought that the pressure from competition would have raised the standard. No. We ordered two curries - a chicken jalfrazi and a captains chicken. They both came in china bowls / plates and were put on a (very mildly luke warm) food rest. The chicken looked like it had been re-heated as it was dry looking and slightly curly - not dissimilar to a ready meal. The (luke warm) sauce had that monosodium look to it that freshly cooked curry does not have. It was also expensive. There's a top notch curry place near Goose Green - Mirash tandoori - I'm going to stick to that one in future. .
