A review of Fossdene Primary School by Garry Hastings written on Tuesday 14th of June 2011
I was a student at Fossdene from about 1958-62 and didn't really enjoy my time there at all. In those times the boys leaving primary went to the smaller school outlet first before being swallowed up by that imposing Victorian style building that to a boy of 12 looked very menacing indeed. Teachers I remember, Miss Williams (English) Mr Neal (also English) Mr Edwards (Science) and not forgetting Mr Lister the very stern and strict Headmaster. On a recent visit back there I did revisit the area and found it greatly changed as one would expect after so long. My favorite teacher was Miss Williams and I would love to know what happened to her, she was very beautiful and extremly talented and encouraged me to write. Anyone remeber any of the above? I would be extremly interested if there is. .
