A review of Joy by GF written on Sunday 20th of March 2011
Located in vibrant Broadway Market – where innovative and creative food abounds to attract the young and trendy locals – Joy has failed to maintain the standard of eateries in the street.
First the food: standard Indian fare – nothing particularly special and the serving sizes are a little on the small side.
Service: this is where the place really lets itself down – whether eating in the restaurant or have take away. If you get take away - collection or delivery check every carton before you leave or allow the delivery person to leave. On two occasions they have provided the incorrect food and then been reluctant to rectify their mistake when discover at home!
On the last occasion they eventually replaced a part of the order – but not all of it – so the rice was 30 minutes old when the Dansak arrived! Poor, Poor Poor.
Avoid the place – there are plenty of good Indian restaurants 5 minutes away on Hackney road, or 15 minutes away in Brick Lane!
