A review of Aladin by Minnie written on Thursday 24th of February 2011
We went for an 18th birthday and were told we'd get a starter main and side plus 2 alcoholic drinks for free for only 8.95. we were then told inside that we would only get soft drinks, so after being squashed onto a table downstairs we had to go to the off-license.
When our order was finally taken, the waiter was rude, short tempered and unprofessional. The starters were less than acceptable, the onion bhajis were burnt black and the chicken was off. not one of us(12 people) finished the very small portions given, although very hungry. When the mains came the Phal was bitter and lacked any flavour. The chicken rogan josh was chopped oily onions with no sauce, some chicken and a few raw onions on top. we weren't asked once if we were enjoying the food, and we were charged £15 extra for 12 poppadoms and a raita.
absolutely nothing authentic or welcoming about this restaurant. disgusting food. ruined the 18th birthday.
I would avoid this place at all costs, go to one of the many other amazing restaurants down brick lane.
the only reason I gave one star is none of us ended up in hospital..
