A review of New ID Studios by Jane Weston written on Monday 13th of December 2010
Girls (and guys) if you feel like a really nice boost to your self esteem and feel like your image like mine did, needs a bit of a re-thing then why not try a makeover, I did and really enjoyed it. The experience eally lifted my spirits and got in the right mood for making an effort to look good. To be honest I knew I had let things slide for a while after a rather unhappy split from my long term partner and a friend suggested it was just what I needed and she was right.
I got a voucher for New ID and went to their Oxford Circus Branch. I went during the week to avoid any weekend rush as I had read a few reviews that mentioned the place gets a little on the busy side at the weekends. I arrived at 9-30 and virtually had the place to myself. I don’t drink so couldn’t take advantage of the free champagne but I did manage to make a dent in their coffee and tea collection! I found all of the team of staff to be really friendly and professional as well as helpful. I got a form to fill out stating what I wanted to look like and I got plenty of help with ideas and filling it in.
I was very happy with my hair cut, I am not easy to please when it comes to my hair and I find it really hard to get it cut just the way I like it but I got exactly what I wanted and will be going back there in the future to have my hair done. Once you have a stylist you connect with its wise to hold on to them.
Make up was excellent, yes I was taken through the price list but didn’t feel the least bit obliged or pushed to buy anything, however I did treat myself to a really nice compact.
Photo session was great fun, I am not particularly shy anyway but I do go a bit shy in front of a camera as I don’t feel very photogenic, well I thought I wasn’t but have to say I might have been proved wrong here! What great fun, the photographer really put me at ease and I loved every minute of it.
There was only a 15 minute wait for the photos and I was amazed by them happy with them. I chose to go for the CD option as photos can fade and if you have the CD you can print them off when you want them. Its not cheap to buy the pictures but if you pay before you go the money you put down is matched by New ID so effectively you are getting twice what you pay for and this is something that I really want to mention, I didn’t because I had read some very mixed reviews on this company and was unsure if I was even going to go, I was very glad that I did go and very annoyed at myself for not paying up front because I bought the CD anyway and could have got it for half the price. I am happy to report that in my experience New ID is an excellent company, it’s a wonderful experience and anybody who is going would be very well advised to pay up front and get the best deal you can by doing so. The only slight down side that I can think of, but lets keep this fair and balanced, is the nail and hand treatment is not the most extensive treatment but that is the only thing that was even slightly disappointing
