A review of The Waters Edge by Hampshire written on Sunday 10th of October 2010
IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A WALK MID-AFTERNOON FRI 08/10/2010. THIS WAS A MEMORY LANE TRIP FOR MY HUSBAND & MYSELF AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL WE WALKED INTO THE WATERS EDGE RESTAURANT. ON FIRST IMPRESSION MY HUSBAND REMARKED HOW FILTHY THE SEATED AREA OUTSIDE WAS, IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WERE DAYS/WEEKS OF CIGARETTE BUTTS COVERING THE FLOOR. WE WENT INSIDE TO ORDER BUT COULD NOT FIND THE SNACK MENU? (SITUATED ON THE BAR WAS A PLAQUE ADVERSTISING SNACK MENU'S & TO ENQUIRE)I ASKED A YOUNG GIRL WHO WAS AT THE TIME WIPING A TABLE IF WE COULD SEE THE MENU AND SHE RUDELY SAID NO! NO OTHER HELP WAS OFFERED, MY HUSBAND THEN ASKED ONE OF THE MALE BAR STAFF THE SAME QUESTION AND HE REMARKED - DONT ASK ME, I DON'T KNOW, IN REPLY I SAID "DONT THINK ME STUPID BUT AM I READING SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO YOURSELF, THIS PLAQUE STATES YOU DO SNACK MENU'S
ALSO. THE FOOD MAY BE OK THERE? BUT WE NEVER KNOW AS WE NEVER STOPPED THERE LONG ENOUGH TO FIND OUT, WE PROMPTLY LEFT - WE WILL VISIT THE LIDO AGAIN BUT DEFINATLEY NOT USE THE WATERS EDGE RESTAURANT.
