A review of Oriental City by Jan written on Tuesday 14th of September 2010
More than two years since it so sadly closed, the site of Oriental City remains closed and the building fenced around. So far as I can make out there are currently no plans for redevelopment of the site or any part of it, nor has anyone acquired it yet. Under these circumstances would it not have made more sense to have somehow allowed it to remain open and trading, thereby creating income, and maintaining local employment? As things stand I would not be at all surprised if the site will remain empty and becoming increasingly derelict for years to come, adding to the blight of an area that has already become increasingly run-down and soulless, despite the new apartment block(s) recently opened nearly opposite. There is nowhere else in the NW London area that comes anywhere near the enjoyable ambience and atmosphere that one could participate in at O.C. Shame on those who decided to close it....
