"Non answering of official listed phone numbr"

I have now been trying for more than 10 days to get through on the official list telephone number for Air China 0208 745 4624 but is never answered I phone the European number beginning with 00800 which was answered straight away and on explaining what I wanted a very helpful young man stated that his computer could not deal with my request of gaining a seat allocation but to ring the 0208 number I stated that I had been trying but he said yes it is very difficult to get an answer. More infuriating is that after about a min you are cut of and have to redial. If this number is not going to be answered why put it on the site and why give it to tour operators which is where I got the number from in the 1st place..
