A review of Hilly Fields Medical Centre by Anon written on Monday 10th of May 2010
Am frustrated with the system at Hillyfields. Have recently moved to the area and registered there, and it's a complete contrast to my old surgery.
At 34 weeks pregnant my hospital midwife suggested I might have a urine infection. Unfortunately the hospital can't find my sample. I decided to go to my GP rather than wait for my next midwife appointment (another 2 weeks). I thought phoning at 9am on a Monday might be early enough to get me an appointment for sometime in the coming week. But all the bookbable appointments were gone (up to 2 weeks previously). My only option then is to free up a whole day so I can make a 'book on the day' appointment'. Ridiculous.
And a terrible system for my partner who works on contract - unless he knows in advance that he needs to see a doctor he will potenitally lose a whole day's pay in order to make an appointment on the day.
Is this surgery just for the unemployed, elderly and others with time on their hands?.
