A review of Artemidorus by Silvia Pajares written on Friday 16th of April 2010
A wonderful, tardis like, place to browse and buy the best of British design to wear or for your home.
When visiting London and the well known Dulwich Picture Gallery, one of the oldest in the world, I had the good fortune to stumble across this marvellous shop and gallery. It is very small and intimate but contains a wonderful collection of items ranging from lovely contemporary jewellery to hand crafted ceramics and glassware. I only bought a scarf and a few cards from a tasteful, and unusual, selection but was tempted by many other things especially some of the children’s toys.
The staff were friendly and told me that everything in the shop had been produced by British artists. It really was a lovely place, pleasant and comfortable to be in, not pretentious like some galleries I have visited.
England, although a much smaller than my country, is filled with interest beyond it’s size. I also enjoy watching Doctor Who – Artemidorus with it’s tiny exterior reminded me, once inside, of his Tardis. I recommend the experience.
My name is Silvia. I make jewellery in Peru and thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
