A review of Blues Cafe by Russell Aldersson written on Thursday 11th of March 2010
I had a fairly nice experience at the Blues Cafe in West Smithfield having bought lunch and and 2 coffees as i killed an hour waiting to do a job at nearby Barts hospital.. That was until the manager/owner came alone and asked if it was my phone that was charing and when i responded that it was, he promptly unplugged it and asked me if i had asked permission before launching into a monologue about manners and asking permission beforehand.
Not being allowed to charge ones phone wasn't a big deal. It was the abrasive manner in which he spoke to me like i was a 5 year old child.
I don't know how much i contributed to his electric bill charging my phone for half an hour but i bet it's no where near as much as the continued business he lost as i go in there 3 times a week.
What an idiot. And so typical of the service industry in this country..
