If you have the time and patience to search through the many spectacle frames on offer you may possibly find a bargain. This is if you are not too fussy or are looking for something that is reasonably up to date style wise. As soon as you walk in you think 'this cannot be it'! It looks like a second hand shop for spectacles. The staff do not offer any assistance and are quite happy to let you wander all around them whilst they sit and calmly carry on eating. Beware - although the website says no credit cards, it does not specify no debit cards. This place only takes cash or cheques. Also, although you may be supplied with a case for your s****y new spectacles, you wont necessarily get the designer case that should go hand in hand with them. Whilst I was there it's also worth noting, (I know alarm bells should have rung!) that quite a few people came in to have their frames adjusted as they were having problems with the position of them. They do not check all this when you purchase them as they do in other optical stores. You do get what you pay for in this respect. I reckon I may have saved £15 on having my spectacles made up there but would happily pay that for getting the correct case and customer service. OK if all you want is a simple frame that does the job or a spare pair, but with so many other places offering 2 for the price of 1 etc, I wont be bothering again :>(.
