A review of Franco Santoro by Ben Crowe written on Wednesday 4th of November 2009
I researched having a bespoke suit made for about 3 years and pestered evryone in London who could help me. I expained that I had about 7-800 pounds to spend and was it possible to get true bespoke at that price.
Everyone on Savile Row was very helpful except a salesman in Oswald Boateng who looked at me with contempt and said "There's a Topman round the corner, mate..."
I went into "Nino's" (who is Franco's son) off Regent Street and his sister told me about her father.
That he does everything himself- i.e measuring/cutting/sowing and that his prices start at 600 pounds depending on the cloth etc.
I decided to go with him and was quite nervous as I really shouldn't be spending that kind of money on clothes!
The result was fantastic. He only needs one fitting and the suit is an absolute blinder. He also made me a three piece for my wedding which was over a thousand pounds and is absolutely perfect.
I don't know how he does it, but he has got to slow down soon. I believe he trained at Chester Barrie and I have seen Savile Row people taking garments for alterations etc in his workshop on Kingly Street.
I now know quite a lot about tailoring/bespoke/suits etc and I urge you to not waste time, just go to him.
For the price the service and speed are quite incredible.
