A review of Teasels Yarncrafts by Lucy, 22 - Hackney written on Wednesday 9th of September 2009
My mother shopped here years ago so when I decided to take up Crochet, this was the place I thought to go to.
Unfortunately, I couldnt remember exactly where it was so instead I did a search for wool shops and ending up visiting 'Fabrications' which was a complete waste of time (despite popular reviews- only 5 or 6 colours of wool!).
So today, along with my mum, we took a visit to Teasels and were not disappointed! We were greeted with warm welcome when we entered, allowed to browse for as long as we liked, obligation free, and had our questions answered and given helpful advice.
Whether you are a beginner or dab hand, you will feel like a child in a candy shop. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with wools, beads, buttons, cotton, seiquins and anything else you could possible want or need. There were patterns and books on 'how to', lovely cases to store all your bits and pieces and even cross-stitch and cases and bags to store all your bits and pieces.
As the other reviewer said, they dont treat you any different, regardless of whether you're just starting out!
Ok so now im sounding like I work there but honestly, my mum had to pull me out of the shop because I loved it so much. I will DEFINITELY be going back.
Its a lovely little shop that has been there for 20 years and you can really tell why people just keep going back.
