A review of Signor Zilli's Restaurant by Harriet Walsh written on Wednesday 5th of August 2009
Booked special anniversary dinner for two at 6pm prior to theatre. Had a drink in the Zilli bar next door which I thought was a bit scruffy and cocktail small but pleasant. The restaurant was simple and tasteful. We went for the set menu. Lovely bread to start followed by smoked trout and pear starter and the beef breseola. Both delicious and nicely presented. We then went for the calves liver and the lamb steak. No complaints about the food but we didn't get it until 7.12pm. Ate it in a mad rush, paid bill in haste and realised was overcharged by £4 on leaving. Probably my fault due to rush but I was left wondering. Ending spoilt experience..
