A review of The Ride by Anne-Marie GILBERT written on Tuesday 21st of July 2009
Hi everyone! I probably shouldn't be writing on this page, as I wasn't actually at The Ride. I did however get to know Doreen over the years as a much loved friend. I met her when she used to go to St Faith's Church in Brentford every Sunday morning. At the time I was there I remember she used to take two children - who would have been about 10 or 11 in 1977 - and one was a little lad, who was always very smartly dressed in a grey suit. I can't remember his name, I'm afraid, but I think it was something like Callum, or Cameron? Ring any bells? I think he had a sister with him too? They were always impeccably behaved.
Thank you so much, Steve, for starting this page, and giving an opportunity for us to express our love and sadness. It was really good to meet you at the funeral, which was a real celebration of Doreen's loving life, wasn't it? I was particularly impressed by the way you came to know about the funeral in the first place, and also how well you are doing now.
Very best wishes.
Anne-Marie (Gilbert) .
