A review of The Old Bank by Elizabeth Martin written on Saturday 4th of July 2009
We were looking forward to this meal. The restaurant looked lovely from the outside and the staff smiled a lot, but thats about all. I asked for rare beef but the waiter didnt understand me.
My sister ordered Duck but it never came. Firstly our starters took absolutely ages to come. Then the waiter took our orders for our main course. Mine and my son's food came first, my sister's Duck never materialised so we asked the lady who seemed to be in charge where the meal was,she looked puzzled and said that no duck order had been taken; she was wrong!
So whilst me and my son tucked into ours they started to cook my sisters duck who because she did not want a starter, was ravenous.
They were lucky that we are ones not to make a fuss cos really we should have demanded a discount or at least the price of bottle of wine deducted from the bill. The food was good, service very very slow and as a result I think that life is too short to bother going to that place again. .
